Deacon Bill Ball
Deacon Bill was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 1984.
The word Deacon derives from the Greek diakonia, meaning "service", thereby indicating that a deacon is called like Christ to be a servant.
The role of the deacon is:

the proclamation of the Gospel at Mass
-
preaching
-
the service of the liturgy
-
the administration of charitable works
The ministry of a Deacon is to baptise, officiate at weddings and funerals, distribute Holy Communion and other liturgies.
