CHILDREN'S LITURGY

The children gather together during the Mass to learn and pray about the Liturgy of the Word in a way that is more appropriate to their level of understanding. They use Gospel reflections, prayers, songs and activities to learn together.

Children Praying

During Children's Liturgy the Sunday Gospel and readings are celebrated at a level the children can understand and enjoy.

Through discussion, prayer and song we raise an awareness of God's love, the humanity of Jesus, the Churches year, an understanding of symbols used in Mass and the stories of the Bible.

Our aim is to make the children's experience of church meaningful, while helping them to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and develop as full and active members of our Parish Community.

Children's Liturgy is run from Our Lady of Lourdes at the Saturday 6:00pm Mass, St Joseph's at the Sunday 9.30am Mass and St Teresa of Avila at the Sunday 11:00am Mass and is aimed at children of primary school age (reception to year 6).

The children's liturgy is run by parents / adults who are keen to pass on the faith.  We are always looking for people to help, so please get in contact if you have time to dedicate to our children.
